Windows XP -
1. Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
2. In the System Properties dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
3. In the Performance pane, click Settings.
4. In the Performance Options dialog box, click the Advanced tab.
5. In the Virtual memory pane, click Change.
6. Change the Initial size value and the Maximum size value to a higher value, click Set,
and then click OK.
7. Click OK to close the Performance Options dialog box, and then click OK to close
the System Properties dialog box.
Increase Virtual Memory on Vista and Win7 -
To increase the initial virtual memory on your computer, with Windows Vista:
1. Open Windows Start
2. Click Control Panel. On the left, select Classic View.
3. Click the System icon.
3. On the left, select the Advanced System Settings.
4. Under Performance, click Settings.
5. In Performance Options, select the Advanced tab.
6. Under Virtual Memory, click Change.
7. In Virtual Memory, uncheck Automatically manage paging file size for all drives.
8. Check Custom size, and type in the sizes you want.
9. Click Set, then OK, and restart your computer.
